D3 & MERIT RACE
March 9th
The standard of car presentation was good and in the Merit Class, Concours counted points for the final result, so many made extra effort there.
Organisation was headed up by Phil Smith (as other major protagonists couldn’t make it due to pressing commitments) and did a masterful job assisted by volunteers on race control Rob Lees and Tony Condon.
Unfortunately, our “roving photographer” Chris Stemman did not make any notes for the pics and I have to confess to enjoying the day so much, I didn’t either! So some of the pics are captionless. However, they will give you a good idea of the variety and general standard of the event.
The Merit cars handled (I think!) better than most expected and the D3 was very competitive and quick -
