FALCON PRO FINAL ROUND 2009
PINEWOOD RACEWAY
The 22nd of November saw 24 racers arrive for the Final Round of the 2009 Falcon Pro Championship.  With different racers leading each section of the championship and positions very close, the racing was closely contested and provided some great entertainment.  Due to a problem configuring the race control system for the 1/32 classes things ran a little late, however all racers wanted to run the full distance in all the races and opted for a later finish rather than a shortened race format.

Racing in all classes provided incredibly close finishes with 80 parts separating Charlie Gooding and Martin Ellis in Pro 1/32 sports & just  58 parts separating Graham Whitby and Chris Thomas in 1/32 Production Sports.
1/32 Formula one saw a sensational dice between Paul Harwood and Martin Ellis  with the lead changing throughout the race and Paul taking the win by just 29 parts.
The 1/24th Pro Sports Final saw a very close dice for 2nd to 4th, with Chris Thomas on a totally different planet, winning by a margin of 6 laps, but the next 3 , Martin Ellis, Graeme Stephenson and Charlie Gooding  were separated by only 71 parts at the end of the race, Graeme making his place from a lower final after a slightly “challenged” qualifier!
Great thanks go to Nigel Barrow for masterfully running race control and providing the Pinewood venue for this years final, helping to make this a memorable race meeting. We will be back at Pinewood again in March for Round 2 of the 2010 season.
Many thanks go to all racers who supported the series and the final.  Without doubt, there are many racers who are finding the series provides great, close racing on a tight budget and we look forward to seeing you for the 2010 series on some interesting tracks and a couple of new venues for the series.
