RACE REPORT
Start positions for both 1/32 classes were defined from the last race result (in this case the positions from the North London Round (newcomers starting at the bottom of the list in the specific class / sub class. The races started from the bottom of the order on up with top heat racing racing last.
Race order at Falcon Pro is 1/32 Sports, followed by 1/32 Formula one, then one minute qualifying, all laps to count for 1/24 Sports & the 1/24th Sports race.
It was nice to see a couple of new faces to the series, notably Pam Maun who gave a couple of the regulars a good fight in the 1/24th C sports heat and husband John, recently back from having both hips replaced, standing strong and getting within 47 parts of a good run from Steve Siddall and making the top “home driver” slot at the same time.
John Ovens took the Production 1/32 race by 4 laps, consolidating his lead in the production class championship . Formula One saw a very close race for the top spot between Paul Harwood and Paul Shepherd with Paul H winning by just 30 parts on the track after the 18 minute race. After a disaster in 1/32 sports and a 3rd in F1 Chris Thomas rose to the top in 1/24th Sports with an epic run, winning from Paul Shepherd by 6 ½ laps.
Many thanks go to Nigel Barrow and the Pinewood gang for hosting the days racing at what has to be one of the nicest venues in UK Slotracing.
We look forward to seeing you all + others for the next round at Oaklands on the 16th of May where the challenges of the 4 lane Oaklands track will doubtless bring up some interesting racing, different challenges and possibly different race results.
