The Falcon Pro Final this year was at Raceway 81 and also featured a 3 hour Night Enduro “warm up” race on the Saturday evening for those brave or daft enough to enter!

Cars were 1/24 Production chassis with handout Falcon 7 motors and hand out, pre wired GT bodies with battery powered light rigs. All body paint jobs were created and sponsored “Painted by Paul” , Motors and Clear bodies sponsored by AB Slotsport. Teams were also given an unlighted “practice body” the same as the one they were to race for real.

Six teams were involved in the race, 5 teams of 3 and one team of four racers.

Full details and results will be published in the coming week when we find the “official results of the race” (unfortunately, Graeme, who organised the race is in Sweden at the moment and  once he returns the official numbers will doubtless be forthcoming! )

The race ran in 6 segments of 28 minutes with a break after segment 3 for Hot food and refreshments. Prior to the race and also after the refreshment break there was a five minute period of “no lights” for the drivers and marshals to get used to the race conditions. Lane Changes were 2 minutes to allow for driver and lane changes.

Despite a number of penalties for teams with Damaged lights and removing cars from the wrong part of the track for maintenance, the racing was interesting, fast and challenging. The Home team of Dave Bradburn, Dave Lees and chief pitman and racer Les Bailey won the race with an almost faultless run through the segments, 2nd finishers were Team BSCC featuring Steve Siddall, Paul Shepherd and Martin Ellis and 3rd (after a massive 50 laps penalty for slightly damaged lights and being stroppy) was the 2nd home team of Andy Brown-Searle, Mike Harrison and Chris Cowan. Full results will be published here in the next few days. In the meantime here is a photo of the winning team, the cars (before the race) and the track.

Thanks go to all racers who participated in the Enduro and to Graeme Stephenson for organising and running the race.

And so to the Falcon Pro Final  !

24 Racers arrived on the Sunday for Falcon Pro including some home drivers who had not competed the series. As is the case with Falcon Pro at the final, any racers who have not competed in the series are welcome to race, but do not count points in the Championship , to ensure racers who have competed the series are allocated their race finish positions for championship points. However, new drivers can compete for the Race awards on the day of the race.

In Falcon Pro 1/32 Sports Paul Shepherd made a mighty run to come 1st overall and also  1st in the Championship with new home drivers taking the next 4 positions and Graeme Stephenson, Paul Harwood and Martin Ellis fighting for championship points to see Paul and Graeme coming 2nd and 3rd in the Championship.

In 1/32 Falcon Production sports Sandy Parker, John Ovens, Ant Hawkes and Barry James fought for the race and the championship with overall top 3 in the championship finishing with Sandy 1st, John 2nd and Barry 3rd. Ant Hawkes having a few set up issues at this, the final race of the series.

1/32 Formula One  was hotly contested with home drivers Richy and George splitting series drivers Graeme and Paul Shepherd and Mike Harrison finishing in front of Paul Harwood.  Overall championship winner was  Paul Shepherd from Paul Harwood And Graeme Stephenson 3rd , with Graeme making a mighty run of 209 laps to come 1st in the race overall.

January 2012 sees the start of the 2012 Falcon Pro Series at North London on the 29th of January.

All races are welcome to attend and compete the 2012 Championship. The Final of which will be held at Pinewood Raceway on the 4th November.

We do have a number of rule changes in 2012 which it is hoped will make the racing even more competitive.

See all changes HERE
