The 29th saw a total of 16 racers arrive for Falcon Pro ( a couple of new racers from North London  just dipping their toes into their first slot car race in 1/32 production in the shape of Mario and Albert).

Many thanks go to Ian Fisher for running the days racing despite a failing voice he managed the days racing with the usual organisation he has become legend for. And had some good racing into the bargain. Winning 1/32 production and top 3 in the other classes.

North London is probably one of the two most technical tracks in the championship and racing was, as expected, largely dominated by the “home chaps”, but a great days racing was had by all.

Many thanks go the north London for hosting the event and special thanks go to Mrs Clements for doing the burger run at lunchtime!

And so to the racing!

Martin Ellis’s winning Mack Falcon Pro Sports Car

1/32 Production saw crushing runs from 3 home racers Ian Fisher and John Ovens with Cliff Bicknell coming in 3rd and Sandy Parker from Oaklands coming a close 4th.

In Pro Sports Martin Ellis (part time London and Blackpool racer) took the win from Home driver Paul Harwood and a very commendable run from Ant Hawkes. Much to everyones amusement Andy Brown Blew up in the Pro race with a rather smelly motor!

With lane spacing for 1/24th scale cars being slightly “challenged on the North London track it comes down to those who know were it “happens” and sure enough the North London guys had it taped with top 4 finishes and it has to be said very credible runs from Sandy Parker and Ant Hawkes making up the top 6. Matin Ellis although bieing a “part time” London racer seen to have the class totally sussed out with a blinding run on Paul Harwood in second place!

Once again, many thanks to North London for hosting the days racing and Ian Fisher for ensuring we had a timely finish to allow the guys who had a distance to drive home a relatively early night!  Also many thanks to the racers for making this a really fun day out !
